Festspielhaus St. Pölten / Austria
A 1000 seats festival hall venue built by Austrian Star architect Klaus Kada for the inauguration of St. Pölten as capital of Lower Austria in 1997. The Festspielhaus’ Orchestra in residence – Tonkünstler Orchester Niederösterreich – under it’s director Andrés Orozco Estrada performs around 30 concerts including manly classical repertory as well as music theatre, ballet and world music projects. Contemporary Ballet and Dance, Concerts and international music theatre is making the programme of Festspielhaus as an unique and international highly regarded institution within the repertory structure of Opera Houses and Festivals like Vienna Festival or Salzburg Festival in Austria where Brigitte Fürle worked before. Her first season at Festspielhaus included C(H)OERS by world renowned director Alain Platel produced with the choir of Teatro Real Madrid and its orchestre under director Gérard Mortier who passed away recently, mIlonga the international highly acclaimed show by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui with Tango Dancers and musicians from Argentina, Stars of the dance world like Sylvie Guillem, Akram Khan, Israel Galvan, Hofesh Shechter, Grupo Corpo, Batsheva Ensemble and Ballett am Rhein among many others. Season 14/15 opened with the world wide acclaimed Magic Flute directed by Barrie Kosky and Suzanne Andrade /1927 for Komische Oper Berlin, Ballet de Lyon and Semper Oper Ballet, Ballet Preljocaj and many others. Season 15/16 will open (25 of September 2015) with Sasha Waltz’s CONTINU, musics by Varése, Mozart, Vivier performed live with the Tonkünstler Orchestra followed by Pina Bausch latest piece Como El musguito based on a residency within the Santiago A Mil Festival.

The high-quality four month season of theatre and dance at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele, a 1000 seat capacity highly renowned theatre in Berlin West regularly features works of leading theatre and dance artists such as Robert Wilson, Luc Bondy, Robert Lepage, Alvis Hermanis, Grzegorz Jarzyna, Antonio Latella, Heiner Goebbels, Krzysztof Warlikowski, Dimiter Gotscheff, Lemi Ponifasio, Andrea Breth, Romeo Castellucci, Stéphane Braunschweig, Christoph Marthaler, dance-icon Sylvie Guillem and choreographers William Forsythe Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Sasha Waltz, Virgilio Sieni, Shen Wei, DV8 Physical Theatre, Lloyd Newson, Angelin Preljocaj, William Forsythe, Hofesh Shechter and many others. The programme includes special curated film programmes, talks, lectures and meeting the artists talks.
The most worldwide celebrated outdoor- and special projects of spielzeit’europa so far included:
the four day open air theatre event »Le rendez-vous de Berlin – The Berlin Reunion« by Royal de Luxe (October 2009), a commissioned work to mark the 20th anniversary of the fall of the wall, a free event visited by over two million people in Berlin, and receiving TV viewing figures of 80 million people, that was carried out by Brigitte Fürle as artistic and executive producer.
the world premiere »The Sound of Silence« by Alvis Hermanis (November 2007), a commissioned work by spielzeit’europa which has since been invited to countless festivals around the world
the adaptation of Christoph Marthaler’s »Schutz vor der Zukunft« for Berlin (October 2006) in the former sanatorium in Beelitz-Heilstätten as part as the special projects in the city of Berlin.
2011 Brigitte Fürle commissioned for the reopening of the newly renovated House of Berlin Festival with a major theater dance and music production, „Le Savali: Berlin“ by samoan born New Zealand based artist Lemi Ponifasio and his company MAU, artists from New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, bringing together with artists dancer and musicians from Berlin within a cast of more than 50 people on stage, „Le Savali: Berlin“was the first artistic collaboration of MAU with the community of a city in Europe and fully created and rehearsed at the House of Berlin Festival. President of the Parliament, Prof. Norbert Lammert held the opening speech at the world premiere on the 6th of October 2011.
Under the directorship of Brigitte Fürle House of Berlin Festival has achieved great popularity with audiences, which is evident from excellent box office figures (regulary 90% of seats sold), together with a particularly high international media profile. In its extensive networking and co-operation with top quality festivals and international presenters, the festival season has quickly become an important partner for productions and coproductions and has an established presence on the Berlin and international scene. Artistic Leadership on programming including extensiv travelling and networking with the worldwide largest festivals and institutions as well as artistic leadership and fundraising, public relations, marketing and managing the budget including the revenue potential are carried out by Brigitte Fürle in close collaboration with the team including including more than 50 people.

2002 -2004 Salzburg Festival
Programme curator for the Young Directors’ Project (powered by Montblanc) at the Salzburg Festival, drama director Jürgen Flimm. In 2003 Brigitte Fürle presented Latvian director Alvis Hermanis, whos production of »Revizor« won the Montblanc Award. Hermanis is now one of the most internationally renowned directors of his generation.
1993 – 1998 Vienna Festival
Programme dramaturg and driving force for new forms of theatre at the Wiener Festwochen, artistic director Klaus Bachler, where in the programme for Halle G for the first time DV8, Robert Lepage and Socìetas Raffaello Sanzio known throughout Europe now were presented. As well as »Le peplum« by Royal de Luxe (in front of Vienna City Hall) and »Chimère« by Theatre Zingaro, a horse opera on the siderivers of the Danube.
